"So how much do I need to do?"
This is a comon question often accompanied by something like, "Tell me exactly how much insulation or the quality of windows I need for Energy Star." There is not an exact answer for this because if you are lacking in one category you may be able to make it up in another area of the home. Table of IECC Building Envelope Requirements for Colorado very useful.
Minimum Requirements
To Qualify as ENERGY STAR, a home must meet the minimum requirements specified in the "ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes National Performance Path Requirements" a 2-page document and map, which you may see by clicking here.
